How much is it to buy a copy of GW in China? i am guessing around 400-500RMB. And the hourly charge to P2P? any idea yet from the beta.

There's already been updates to Guild Wars where the only things that changed had something to do with the Chinese beta test. Yet we were required to exit the game and download the client update anyway.

While they have their own server to play in, we still use the same client.

Wrong! The9 (GW publisher in China), had already announced GW China will link to international district. There are polls on varies Chinese GW fansites about the lag people are getting for connecting from China to US server.

China is not the same as 10 years ago. You should plan your next vacation in China.

Yes! The beta had been a success. There were 200+ districts at pre-searing Ascalon on the first day of beta test. Now it's about 60.

The only law in China is that they restrict foreign investors investing in China. Because that's a way of economic control.

Yes...that's because it's open beta, and 99.9% of the people there are completely new to the game.

The way of charging has yet to reach a final decision.

19 hours for 180 fame is less than 10 fame an hour.

That's nothing.

I really hope China doesn't get seperated into a different server and seperated from the rest of the world, one of the reasons I enjoy Guild Wars is the 'one world' scenario with many players from around the world.

Also can anyone post more pics of the Chinese beta test

Thanks for the info Lightblade, good to know that China servers will be linked to the rest of the world. Very soon the international districts will be filled with gold/items sellers spamming their wares. GG roleplayers kiss your lonely districts goodbye.

@undeadgun: did i see someone selling Plat in your first screenshot and even giving out his messenger id and contact detail, he even advertised on a site with the same description saying hes selling gold to other players for real money for the long term.

Aren't dead (or undead) depictions considered somewhat taboo in Chinese culture? That is, showing corpses, skeletons, and so on... Or am I mistaken?

Also, these special requirements would certainly explain why China current has its own areas to play - a slightly altered system still requires beta testing, and you can't exactly do that while connected to other live servers. There could be other requirements we aren't aware of.

Still, I do tend to agree, it would be neat if the Chinese players are part of the same game world eventually. Who knows if that will actually happen though...

Why the hell they make a BETA of a FINAL game released 2 year ago?

Also, experienced chinese players will own that server!!! Wahaha! Sadly my eyes are bigger! Wahaha!

Off-topic: Man, that screenshots are too big for a forum!

Hmm not sure about the linking. Sigils are more than 7K here, so maybe the traders are not linked.

If anyone is in china i'll buy 100 sigils from you and meet you in Int 1 we'll got 50/50 on the profits.. (joke)

i too thought it but a bit of research (google, ftw!) got me this:

In china its illegal to engage in PvP in mmos only and only if you are underage (< 18 years old).

More precisely, children they cant have access to PvP where you are rewarded for player kills by some improvement of character (in GW its faction.).
